From acclaimed actress and playwright Elisabeth Easther, a reading of her new play Birds of a Feather, about Perrine Moncrieff, a woman who refused to take ‘No’ for an answer.
A conservationist before it was popular, pioneering Nelson ornithologist Perrine Moncrieff saw the connection between the birds, forests and human survival. The writer of classic ornithological texts, plus a romance novel, Perrine’s greatest lasting legacy was her part in the creation of the Abel Tasman National Park, all the while accompanied by her pet macaw.
The reading will be followed by a Q&A session where you’re invited to give feedback towards the development of the script.
