Masked Parade & Carnivale

The iconic Nelson Masked Parade is an explosion of colour, music and performance in mask, this year themed 'We are the World'.

Peoples and places, cultures and creatures, local and global, who and what make up your world? All are invited to take to the streets with globally inspired creations for the final fling of this year’s Nelson Arts Festival.

Entry is free and open to all, including community groups, businesses, families, individuals and of course school groups of all ages. There are prizes for each of the following categories: individual, school group and non-school group, plus the Kim Merry Supreme Award for the overall winner.

The CARNIVALE & Sonic Live Zone fire up the evening directly after the Masked Parade, for party time in Trafalgar and Hardy Streets!
